When you need to see a result to reinforce whether or not you should continue taking action. Weight fluctuates, weight loss is not linear. If you are dependent on the scale to reward you mentally in your effort, you're always going to struggle with your weight from a mental perspective.
You're only going to feel successful when the weight goes down. But that is not a good relationship to have with your body or food.
