Getting upset and reactionary to when you fall back into old patterns won’t help you overcome emotional eating.
Feeling uncomfortable about where you are now will not serve you in your up-levelling, overcoming emotional eating and ultimately losing weight.

Stressing about your weight all the time has created a habit of activating the fearful part of your brain called the amygdala.
The amygdala has become hyper-sensitized around food and weight situations which causes you to shift from higher thinking parts of the brain to the automatic & reflexive parts of the brain.
This leads to rigid decision making which generally leads to destructive behaviours around food.
Hence why you wonder in hindsight why you sabotage your best efforts to lose weight.

You're only going to feel successful when the weight goes down. But that is not a good relationship to have with your body or food.

I always see it as separating myself from my myself, choosing to observe myself when wanting to change a certain aspect of my life.
Get curious of what your mental chatter is about and decide that if it doesn't align with your desire than you should alter that dialogue.
Most people struggle with goals when they believe every thought they think. Thoughts aren't truth. You decide your truth.

The main things you need to remember when you are taking action for weight loss is to know the basis of where your action is coming from: higher self vs ego.
I’ve always struggled around food if my desires are based on seeking external validation or from a place of fear vs when I genuinely care about myself and are from love.
Working on your patterns is so important and when you do that, action will feel natural, motivation will not be a thing anymore.
