Yes you generally have to take into consideration the foods you eat in order to lose weight and there are loads of practical tips out there I see for people wanting to lose weight.
At the end of the day weight loss is about a deficit, not about this idea around good or bad or fattening foods.
So the question of what to eat when you have a craving depends on what else you are eating. Moreso why are you craving? Why do your cravings sabotage you? These are the deeper questions you need to be asking when a craving hits.

Some of the lessons I’ve been learning around manifestation and teaching the girls I coach. How you have to understand the paradoxes in life to get what you want.
The dieting perspective and how it translates into manifestation of deprivation.
I notice far too many people make assumptions that everyone who is slim is depriving themselves. Yes there are fit/skinny/slim people who deprive themselves, but there are also overweight people who deprive themselves.
If you assume that slim/fit/skinny people must be “suffering” in order to look that way, you will create that reality for yourself and find it hard to lose weight.
You manifest what you focus on so choose to focus on examples of people who are where you want to be and DON’T feel deprived.
